Reflective Learning
Reflective learning provides individualised programmes to address the gaps students might have in their knowledge.

To provide a solution for learning gaps in gatekeeping subjects (Maths, English and Science) that can be used easily in any country throughout the world, with proven impact. For students, we want their potential to be unlocked. For teachers, to give them a tool to do what they are unable to do at scale. For education systems, we want to empower them with insights that can change practice.

The pedagogical analysis covers how the product supports learning of the identified skills. The student’s role is assessed by four contrary pair parameters, which are selected to cover the most essential aspects on the use of the product.

Reflective learning provides excellent pre-curated material to address gaps student might have in their learning. The solution doesn't give only one option how to learn: the base level is tested and the lessons and materials are provided according to the results of the test. By tailoring the learning goals to the individual student's abilities, the most beneficial education can be given. This allows for a customized experience.
Reflective learner keeps the learner aware of their progress and gaps, and tells them what they have learned. It aims to keep up the user's interest during the progress and guides the learner to define their own learning goals by giving a chance to focus on different strands of learning based on their interest and knowledge needs.
Although Reflective Learning doesn't have equal learning paths for all users (the paths vary according the baseline test results), the learning progress is directly comparable between users: the teacher is able to closely monitor the students' progression and make comparisons if need be.
n Reflective Learning, the learner can act and progress autonomously, but the teacher is able to closely monitor the learning progress through the activity results shown on the teacher dashboard. It is important that students work autonomously, as this is the best way for them to attain their learning goals in their personal learning path.

Results of the baseline testing are clearly explained to the student, and give them an accurate understanding of the possible gaps. Solution engages the student in their own learning process.
Teacher dashboard is very informative and helps to facilitate the students' progression on their learning paths. Possibility to invite an observer of their own choice is a great learner-centered idea.
Making errors assist learning, and points, badges and encouraging feedback keep the students motivated.

Our Quality Evaluation Method is an academically sound approach to evaluating a product’s pedagogical design from the viewpoint of educational psychology.

The method has been developed with university researchers and all evaluators are carefully selected Finnish teachers with a master's degree in education.
