The pedagogical analysis covers how the product supports learning of the identified skills. The student’s role is assessed by four contrary pair parameters, which are selected to cover the most essential aspects on the use of the product.

Now Press Play provides good pre-curated material, with clear instructions for executing post-assignments. The experiences themselves are clear and encourage the student to pay attention to the narrative by addressing them directly. The quizzes after have both questions about the learned knowledge content and also about the narrative. The worksheets and writing assignments require active involvement with the topic and there is some variation on the types of tasks that can be done.

Now Press Play provides the same content and learning tools to all users who undertake the activity, but the teacher can decide, which activities to use based on their group. The narrative can be used for topical learning, as well as writing and grammar.

The application follows a linear, predetermined user progression pathway which includes a clear start and finish. For the Experience this is justified, and especially younger or special needs kids benefit from structure also in the assignments.

Moving around the classroom during the experience creates an interesting setting, where the students are focusing on a narrative, and at the same time seeing their peers reacting to the same narrative. The assignments are mainly designed to be done individually, although there are some class discussion points. Individual approach is justified for topics such as creative writing.
